To be eligible for a permanent residency visa, you must pass the 'medborgerskabsprøve'. The results of the exam indicate the degree to which one is integrated by testing their familiarity with Danish society, culture, and history. You have the possibility to take the exam twice a year - in the summer and the winter.
Exam Date
The next exam will be held on 3 June, 2026.
There are no re-take exams due to illness. If you are sick, you must wait and register for the next exam, and you will need to pay a new registration fee.

Registration Deadline
The final registration deadline for summer is 29 April, 2026.
Registration opens on 15 January, 2026.
When you register, please remember to inform the language school if you are dyslexic, or if you have physical or mental challenges, that we must take into account in connection with your exam.
Registration Fee
When you register for the exam, you must pay a fee of 946 DKK (2026 fee rate).
The fee must be paid via MobilePay 115011. You must write your name and the exam level in the message before you approve the payment. Your registration is valid first when you receive a confirmation from Lolland Language School that we have received your payment.
FAQ - Active Citizenship Exam
You should receive a letter in your e-Boks with your results approximately two weeks after taking the Active Citizenship Exam.
