Special Examination Conditions and Exemptions

At Lolland Language School, we offer Danish courses that prepare you for module tests and the final exams on Danish Education Courses 1, 2 or 3, respectively. We understand that each student has individual needs, and therefore, we offer indiivualized guidance and support for students about special exam conditions. We supervise students who are dyslexic or who have physical or mental challenges that may entitle them to come to a module test or exam on special terms. We also provide guidance about exemptions.

Special Exam Conditions

Application Deadline for PD 1, 2, and 3 exams in November 2025: September 21, 2025.

We can help you apply for special exam conditions from SIRI (the Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration) if you have documented special needs. It can be dyslexia or physical or mental challenges that can affect your ability to participate in the tests under normal conditions.

The special conditions can be, for example:

  • Extra Time: If you are dyslexic, have impaired vision or medically documented speech or hearing difficulties, you can apply for extra time for module tests and exams.
  • Use of Aids: If you are dyslexic, you can apply for permission to use digital aids during the tests.

Other Considerations:

  • If you have problems with your eyesight, we can help you apply for permission to access physical copies enlarged
  • If you have documented difficulty concentrating due to a physical or mental disorder, you have speech difficulties or problems with hearing that cannot be remedied with a hearing aid, we can help you apply for permission to take an oral exam or module test alone

Requirements for Special Considerations

To be allowed to take a module test or exam under special conditions, medical documentation is required. It will typically be in the form of an OBU report from VUC (Voksenuddannelsescenter). In other cases, a medical certificate or referral from another medical professional that is no more than two years old is required.

If you would like to be considered for special testing conditions, please contact the office administration at Lolland Language School. We can help assess your needs and if you are eligible, we will help you apply for an exemption.

Exemptions

It is also possible to be exempted from parts of the tests (either oral or written) if you meet certain conditions. Exemptions may be relevant to you if you:

  • Have special health conditions that make it difficult for you to complete the tests.

We are happy to help you look into whether you are eligible for an exemption and how to apply for it.

How Do you Apply?

If you would like to request special testing conditions or want to apply for an exemption, you can contact the language school administration directly. Our academic coordinator will guide you through the application process and ensure that you receive the necessary support to continue your Danish Education with the right conditions.

At Lolland Language School, we are dedicated to supporting you throughout your learning. We will do our best to ensure that all students are treated equally in regard to our module tests and exams and that everyone has optimal conditions for success.

App Writer Training / Dyslexia Support

App Writer training and dyslexia support are available for learners with dyslexia.

We collaborate with VUC, who screens learners where there is a suspicion of dyslexia. If screening is needed, you will be invited to a session at VUC. If you are diagnosed with dyslexia, you will be offered a special support programme with them to cover the areas the language school cannot provide. This specially tailored support will be integrated into your regular schedule, so you will not have to attend more than a maximum of 14 lessons per week.

At the language school, we also offer an App Writer course, where the main focus is learning to use App Writer as a supportive reading and writing tool. If you are dyslexic, you are allowed to use App Writer during module tests and exams, if you wish to.
